In
Italy a "Bar" (café) is not like a U.S. style bar.
Most hotels that have a U.S. style bar will advertise "American
Bar". a cappuccino - un cappuccino (Sicilian ) un cappuccinu (ooh-kah-pooh-CHEEH-nooh)
The Bar ( Cafè ) is
the center of social life, also a stopping place for a cup of
coffee - un
caffè
(ooh-kah-FEH)
on the way to work. The bar is not a place to consume large amounts of
alcohol. Italians may visit their local bar several times in the morning for
coffee, and pastries. And again in the early evening for an
aperitivo
or
cocktail, usually enjoyed as an appetizer before dinner, campari
apéritif. Coffee is never served with a meal, and Italians rarely
drink coffee after 11am and never drink coffee with there meals except
