The most famous and sought after sweet, the "Cannoli".

Pasticceria Taddeucci in Lucca is a landmark begun  in 1881 by Jacopo Taddeucci and now  run by the 5th generation of his family.


 Their traditional Buccellato Luccese  loaves (filoni) and rings (ciamsella) a cross between sweet bread and coffee cake.

Cassata
  consists of round sponge cake moistened with fruit juices or liqueur. It is then layered with ricotta cheese, candied peel, and a chocolate or vanilla filling similar to cannoli cream. It is covered with a shell of marzipan, pink and green pastel colored icing, and decorative designs. The cassata is finally topped with candied fruit depicting cherries and slices of citrus fruit native to Sicily

Cannoli means "Little Tube" originating in Palermo Sicily.
